announce yourself (I’m “your name” with Environmental Pest Management) Check to see if animals
are present, if so we are NOT to treat unit even if pet is caged. All people & pets must be out of unit
  7. Check for preparedness (Refer to our Bed Bug preparation on web site, or use cheat sheet). If unit is
not prepared for treatment take pictures of reasons why unit is not ready, and also picture of unit door
number. Technician is to also look for signs of tenant self treating unit such as but not limited to
chemical spray can like Raid Bed Bug & Flea spray. Or powder substances around baseboards &
furniture. If noticed technician is to document by taking pictures, recommending tenant stop using,
clean up & remove. Then report to leasing agent in service notes, as well as documenting in work
order system. Technician is to NOT spray over top any powder substances. Technician will then use
his/her discretion on whether unit can be properly treated.
  8. If ready proceed to next steps:

    basement if present
  13. When treating baseboards, make sure to saturate enough for chemical to bleed behind the baseboard and also into the
    carpet tack stripping
  14. Use fine fan and treat all ceiling corners, door trims, ceiling trims, window trims, shelving, and sliding closet tracks
  15. Treat all furniture including couches, recliners, mattress, and box springs, interior of dressers and drawers, backs of
    dressers
  16. When treating mattresses only treat tufts and folds. (Heavy infestation use PI directly on bed bugs)
  17. When treating box springs and furniture, also treat interior by cutting/poking small holes in dust cover
  18. Repeat the same process in all bedrooms, closets, living room, basement if present
  19. Once treatment is completed turn off all lights in the unit, leave a door tag on the inside of front door with name, time, &
place a check mark on backside of door hanger marking bed bug treatment. Do NOT schedule follow up service with
    tenant
