  4. Go to unit, knock on the door 3 times. If tenant answers the door we introduce ourselves (I’m “your name” with Environmental Pest Management) Once tenant allows us in we then ask probing questions about pest related issue; Where have you seen activity? About how long have you noticed pest issue? ETC. Inform tenant all people & pets in unit will need to vacate unit prior to start of service, & remain out of unit following service for a minimum of 3 hours. We do NOT discuss potential treatment plan with tenant. We do NOT discuss other units, unrelated or ongoing issues with the tenant. After gathering some information about pest issue, then move on to visual inspection
  5. After knocking 3 times if no one comes to answer the door, we then use key to open the door and announce yourself (I’m “your name” with Environmental Pest Management) Check to see if animals are present, if so and tenant is not available to remove from unit we CANNOT treat unit
  6. Go to unit. Make sure unit is prepared for treatment before starting service. Refer to preparation sheet. For multifamily style unit “Apartment style” the areas that need to be prepared are living room, bedroom, closets, kitchen & bathroom. For townhome, condo or duplex units all those same areas plus basement area needs to be prepared. For Flea treatments, furniture should be pulled away from walls 12-18 inches. All clothing, bedding should be bagged up, and any loose items removed from floors. Removing ALL pets completely from unit, taking them to vet for any treatments needed to not re-introduce Fleas into unit. Aquarium aerators should be turned off and aquarium covered with plastic
  7. If no preparation work was done in advance of service, we need to take pictures of all areas that prep work is not complete. This would include pictures of non-bagged clothing and bedding, pets if not removed, and any clutter than prohibits us from completing full treatment. Also take picture of front door unit number to document. Leave door hanger on backside of front door to explain why we did not treat unit.
  8. If unit is prepared for service we then go forward with treatment. If tenant is home, inform them they will need to vacate unit and remain out for 3 hours to allow spray to dry. They can refer to preparation sheet, which gives them this direction
  9. Once tenant has vacated unit we can start treatment. Treatments of Fleas consist of spraying all carpet areas with labeled insecticide, and fogging areas to knock down adult fleas. In your B&G tank mix Zenprox and NyGuard “Growth Regulator”, for mixing rates revert to your approved chemical list. For heavier infestations use the fogging agent Alpine Flea aerosol.  Technician can wear Tyvek suit that is provided by EPM office, at his discretion
  10. Areas with no carpet will need sprayed around baseboards. Fogging can be done with fogging machine or aerosol cans of CB80 Fogging needed when adult fleas are noticed during service. If fogging a unit, all active pilot lights need to be shut off
  11. Start treatment; treat all carpet areas with a broadcast spray and fog if needed. Always refer to label for how much spray per square foot area. Spray any baseboards of hard wood flooring
