Biology
Mass: .33-1.5 lbs. Length: .8-2 inches long. Color: Grey, white under belly. Activity: Diurnal in nature, they are mainly active during the day. Squirrels do not hibernate but will generally spend lots of time in their nest during cold winter months. Reproduction:
Breed twice a year usually the middle of summer and in winter. Up to 9 babies, averaging 2 or 3 per liter.

Habitat
Squirrels are arboreal, and often make their homes in either leafy nests or inside tree caves. They rely heavily on the availability of mast (the dry fruit from woody plants and trees). Especially acorns and other nuts. A tree squirrels’ habitat must consist of these nut
bearing trees. Squirrels typically live in well developed colonies and are very social.
