The EPM Way: One Property Manager’s Experience

Because much of our work is done in association with property and community managers – sometimes of exceptionally large properties – we have seen firsthand the incredible workload these individuals must take on each day.

With residents constantly moving in and out, and where units are in close proximity to one another, keeping pests at bay can be particularly challenging.

Environmental Pest Management is not a company that merely takes calls, schedules services, and sprays for pests. That’s what we would call the “bare minimum,” and that’s what our competitors do. Rather, we feel it is our responsibility – our mission – to solve pest problems while working hand-in-hand with property and community managers to make their jobs easier.

And we know we are accomplishing our mission when we hear great feedback from our community managers. Here’s a recent comment from one of our largest clients:

Good afternoon,

 This is a much-needed email to all of you at EPM.  I have been managing this property for the past three years, and we have been through thick and thin when it comes to pest control. Having 1,200 apartments and 57 buildings to oversee, this is a big property and the only one of its kind in Ohio. As a result of all the great work EPM has done for this property, we have no needed service calls this coming Friday. This has never happened in all the time I have been here.  

 Also, you are finishing up 100 preventative apartments today with no roach activity. This is a big shout out to EPM, and I know you understand what an accomplishment this truly is.  I cannot thank you enough for all your hard work during the sometimes-uncomfortable situations we have experienced together.

In addition to the preventatives, we are doing quarterly inspections right now. We have inspected over 700 apartments in the last three weeks with only one apartment with roach activity.

 Sarah, Austin, Frank, Karen, and Brandon, I cannot thank you enough for making my job easier. This has truly been a huge collaboration between all of us.  I applaud EPM for the outstanding work you all have done here.

Needless to say, it makes our day when a community manager tells us we’ve made her job a little easier. It’s what we aim for, and we take great satisfaction in knowing we have positively impacted not only her life, but the lives of all the residents she serves.
